Why is Roger Kenny the best headshot photographer

in Dublin and Ireland for you.

Before becoming a full time professional photographer I spent many years as a clapper loader in the camera department on large International films. Traveling around Europe and the world on film sets as I trained to become a cinematographer. On set I always found myself drawn to the stills photographer and the actors as I thought they both had the most interesting jobs on the film set. Soon I was being asked to take stills on films and in theatres Then that moved to taking headshots of actors. I just naturally seemed to know how to get them to speak to the camera. In 2004 I was asked by Lisa Richards to start photographing their clients and one of the first headshots I did was for a young Irish actor called Aidan Turner. Things kind of took off from there.

You can find out more about my style and how you should prepare for your headshot session on my Headshot Photography page. The studio is in Greystones Co Wicklow. If you are coming by DART I will pick you up from the station and drop you back there after. A lot of people enjoy a sea swim after their headshot session or a bite to eat in the Happy Pear.

Although I primarily work with studio light I also do window light and outdoor sessions as well. I work hard to get you the best possible headshot. I totally understand that you may not be comfortable in front of the camera… very few people are but I will do my best to make you feel and look bright, fresh, considerate, friendly, dark, wary, thoughtful, sensitive, passionate, warmhearted, scrupulous…. and everything in between. My job as a headshot photographer is to get you to trust me but then it is also my job to then challenge you. If you accept this challenge then get in touch and let’s set up an appointment. Mid-week appointments are usually easier to get and cost slightly less. Saturday and Sunday sessions are slightly more expensive …. but hey it’s the weekend!
