Dublin Outdoor Corporate Headshots
I am a very positive photographer. I always believe that a job can get done. There are sometimes limitations and of course as a professional photographer you want to give your client the best advice. But when the client knows what they want you have to step up to their challenge and get the job done. When Emma from Allergy Standards based in the Grand Canal Dock got in touch about what they were looking for. The brief and expectations were very clear.
“We want to get headshots done for our team, for our website. We want to update this totally, the style we are looking for is something really professional, with a consistent look and feel. We’d like the photos taken outside to give it both a professional but also a fun and modern feel. We are based on Grand Canal Quay, and would like to have some of that background in the photos. In addition to individual head shots we would like a couple of team photos.”
Of course outdoor headshots sound like a lovely idea but any Dublin based photographer will tell you the Irish weather does not always play ball! Even more so as they wanted the headshots to be taken in February a month not known for the best light. But having looked at their website and understanding the nature of their business I understood why they wanted their headshots and team photographs to be outside in the fresh air.
They also had very specific dates that they needed the shoot done on so there would be no moving or rearranging to suit the weather forecast. Thankfully on the day the sun was shining which of course it’s own problems in terms of photography but I think the results are great and I know the client loved the photographs and really enjoyed the experience as everyone got out from behind their desks and got to go on a walk together around the canal. During the shoot Emma confided in me that she had contacted several photographers about quote for the shoot and all of them replied that they would not do outdoor headshots in February. Well lucky me who got the job. After the shoot Emma left a very kind Linkedin Recommendation for me.
